Killarney basketball reaches new heights

ST VINCENTS basketball team, Killarney, have been strengthened by the addition of two American basketball players who played their first game for the club in early October 1979.
The new players are Cornel Bedford of River Rouge, Detroit, and Gregg Huguley, of Michigan Detroit, both members of the Quincey College basketball side.
Quincey College played in Killarney in early 1979 and it was then that negotiations to bring two players to play for Vincents were opened. Gregg Huguley was a member of the team that travelled to Ireland.
The addition of the two Americans adds a whole new dimension to the Vincents basketball prowess, as Cornel stands at 6ft 7ins and Gregg at 6ft 4 ns.
Rebounding won't any longer be the prerogative of Paudie O'Connor or Tim O'Regan.
