Top performers for Tech Amergin
Wednesday February 03 2010
THE Tech Amergin centre in Waterville is hosting some great concerts over the next few weeks. An evening of song and music from Donegal is set to enchant audiences on St Valentine' night with a concert from Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh and Mánus Lunny.
Mairéad is a recognised, traditional musician and a founder member, singer and fiddle player with traditional supergroup Altan. She is well known from her television appearances most recently as presenter of RTE 1's weekly music series 'The Full Set' and as a guest musician in the current series of 'The Transatlantic Sessions' on BBC 2.
Mairéad released her first solo CD, Imeall, earlier this year to great critical acclaim. Accompanying Mairéad will be Capercaille's Mánus Lunny on bouzouki and guitar, a great friend and neighbour who also produced the CD.
While Altan continues to be the core of Mairéad's life as a musician, this new venture has given her a new creative scope.
Tickets €15 (€12 conc.). For bookings please ring Tech Amergin on 066 9478956 /or email techamergin@eircom.ne t
