Catch Jerry Fish and the Mudbug Club

Wednesday January 27 2010

JERRY Fish and the Mudbug Club are set to play the INEC Acoustic Club on Saturday, March 6. The group first emerged in 2002 when Gerard Whelan, former front-man with An Emotional Fish, returned to the music scene after a brief sabbatical.

His new venture, Jerry Fish and The Mudbug Club released their debut album, Be Yourself, which featured guest stars including Mundy and Damien Rice. The album was applauded by the critics and was awarded a Meteor Irish Music Award for Best Country/Roots Artist.

With numerous catchy hits including, True Friends and Be Yourself and a distinctive sound using brass instruments and a jazzy style which Jerry himself describes as "indie lounge lizard schmooze, mariachi swampadelica" Jerry Fish and The Mudbug Club quickly emerged as a major force in the Irish music scene.

The band recently released a new album, The Beautiful Untrue which features guest vocals from Imelda Maye and Carol Keogh.

Tickets to see Jerry Fish and The Mudbug Club live in the INEC Acoustic Club on Saturday, March 6 cost €17.50 and are available from the INEC Box Office. Tel 064 6671555.
