Thousands of revellers have taken to the streets of Belfast for the annual Gay Pride parade.

The event celebrated its 20th anniversary and began at Custom House Square at noon.

It followed a route through the centre of the city including along part of Royal Avenue, Donegall Place and in front of the City Hall.

The theme of this year's procession is "Outer Space". Up to 10,000 people watched or took part.

It is the culmination of Pride week which has been running since last Saturday.

Protesters including Free Presbyterians held counter-demonstrations during the event.
